Pumps for Steel and Metal Processing

Metallurgical processes usually involve handling highly corrosive, abrasive, or high-viscosity fluids, including strong acids and bases, concentrated mineral slurries, and particle-laden suspensions. Diaphragm pumps are widely used in these operations because they are corrosion-resistant, keep the fluid isolated from the drive mechanism, and provide leak-free transfer, even for fluids containing solids.

  • Steel Rolling: Transfer of emulsions containing iron powder particles.
  • Wet Metallurgy: Safe handling of leaching agents, extractants, precipitating chemicals, and other reagents.
  • Flue Gas Treatment: Convey lime slurry, ammonia solutions, and other desulfurization or denitrification agents.
  • Slurry Transfer: Pumping high-concentration concentrate or tailings slurries containing solid particles.
  • Pickling Processes: Handling strong sulfuric acid during metal pickling operations.
